Pre-Research Check

The First Step In Discovering Your Home’s History
Every house has a story, but not every story survives in the records.
The Pre-Research Check is the essential first stage in uncovering your home’s past. It’s a quick, affordable way to find out what historical sources exist before you commit to a full House History package.
£30, approx. 1-2 weeks completion time

What is a Pre-Research Check?
Not every home leaves a strong paper trail — but many do.
The Pre-Research Check is a focused review of the surviving records for your property. It’s designed to answer a simple but crucial question: is there enough information to tell your home’s story in a meaningful way?
I’ll investigate a range of sources — from census returns and directories to maps and parish records — and provide you with a clear summary of what survives
